Art "Chat Daddy" Sims

SNEAK PEEK at Art Sims

Art "Chat Daddy" Sims have seem to have found his voice, again. If you are not aware of Mr. Sims, then you would not know that he has traveled the media circuit - the white and black hand side. He has done radio, television, print and even hosted his own live audience chat session at select venues around Chicago.
Art has been hosting a Friday lights style talk show on WVON the last six months or so. After getting amazing responses from his devoted listeners, and as WVON goes through some format and personality changes, Chat Daddy's fast rising stock, forced 1690AM's management to place Art into a daily slot.
With more than 21 years of media experience, Sims is a familiar and welcomed voice in many diverse communities throughout Chicago and around the world. Known for his humor, quick wit, charming conversation and amiable personality, Chat Daddy has traveled both nationally and internationally, providing inspirational, educational and vital information on the development and maintenance of positive, sustainable relationships.
In 2007, Sims was inducted in the second edition of Who's Who in Black Chicago, and in 2009 he was recognized by Monarch Magazine as a social dynamo and a mover and shaker in the media world. TBTNews spoke with Sims to see where his head is at - a few days before he goes lives, daily:
TBTNews: How excited are you to be establishing a nightly spot, four days a week starting next Monday?
Chat Daddy: I'm extremely excited. I'm honored to have been given such an opportunity to host a full time show on such a historic radio station like WVON. I'm truly making history. Mere words cannot express my joy...my own radio show in the number three market in the country on a famous African American trusted media source.
TBTNews: Tell us what is the format of your new or existing show?
Chat Daddy: Real Talk, Real People is a lifestyle magazine style show, which means we will talk about local and national news stories, we will also discuss a lot of lifestyle issues that people are facing in today's society. I want my listeners to enjoy themselves, but I also want them to feel as if they are taking away a lot of valuable information from each show. The show is dubbed as Happy Hour on the radio on WVON.
TBTNews: Why do you think your show has garnered such tremendous support?
Chat Daddy: The name "Chat Daddy" has become famous with the people of Chicago. Because I'm an everyday guy from the Southside of Chicago.
TBTNews: How have you grown over the years, and has it been a positive growth for your professional career and personally?
Chat Daddy: It has been a very positive growth experience...With age comes wisdom and patients. I've been in the Chicago media business for 21 years - I'm blessed to still be apart of the game. My next move is to become a published author. Continuous positive growth is always good for the soul.
TBTNews: What can the people expect from your show, and are you pleased with the position of the show and the opportunity to present the renewed Chat Daddy?
Chat Daddy: More celebrity interviews, deeper subject matter, live in-Studio performances and so much more. The time slot and days are perfect so that I'm able to be out and about mixing and mingling with my listening audience during the day and on the weekends.
